Glazes & Middle Tones. Glazes are usually the dark colors on your
palette thinned to a transparency with painting medium. Middle tones
are a mixture of opaque colors and glazes. Color Notes: Sky: Permalba
wite, Cerulean Blue. Hills: Holbein Portland warm greys, Dioxazine
Purple, Paynes Grey. Foliage; Yellow Ochre, Gold Ochre, Burnt Sienna.
Holbein Green grey, Chrome Oxide Green Opaque. Water: Permalba White,
Cerulean Blue, Paynes Grey, Chrome Oxide Green Opaque - some Prussian
Blue and Burnt Sienna for darkest Glazes.
